After averaging about 2.5 hours of sleep each, the Bowling to Vegas crew went to the 550 KTRS studio and sleepily chatted it up with Kevin and Sue from www.kevinandsuetravel.com. Not sure how many people are up listening to AM radio at 7:30 AM on a Sunday, but we're sure it's more people than we'd expect. The wonders of this world never cease to amaze.
The morning was followed by a long, dreary drive in the rain. The highlight of this entire drive was a stop in something claiming to be the "World's Largest McDonald's". That pretty much sums up the day.
Checked into the Holiday Inn Express in Tulsa and ate some crappy food at a crappy diner. We debated eating elsewhere, since the sign on the door proclaimed that we were not allowed to bring in concealed weapons. We checked our weapons at the door and ate some crappy food. We tried to order pie, but it didn't seem to work out.
Crappy food was followed by some very ugly bowling. Exhausted, Todd and Matt managed to hold their own for a while, (Matt broke the 200 mark for the first time), but the old guys (Mike and Derek) were showing their age.
After a vain attempt to find hard liquor in Tulsa after 9PM, a friendly barmaid at the Town Pump set us up with some packaged goods. We played hotel room poker for a couple hours, where Mike managed to save some face after bowling by taking everybody's money. Not in poker - he just grabbed all the money and ran. We're still waiting for him to come back.
