Matt DeRosa
matt@bowlingtovegas.com

Age:
31

Average:
116.8 - Pretty much made up.

Best Bowling Experience:
Bowling late nights with friends at the CCC in college- back when girls liked me.

Worst Bowling Experience:
Candlelight bowl to raise money for the baseball team I was playing for. I was set up on a blind date for it. In front of my brother and my moms and pops, this girl proceeded to ignore me all night. I need a life.

Favorite PBA bowler:
Pete Weber. You just can't beat Member's Jackets and bowling with goofy sunglasses on. Plus, he looks just like a guy I used to work with- Jerry. Man, did I hate that guy. Wait, I hate Pete Weber. Can I change my answer?

Favorite beer while bowling:
It's got to be Budweiser in the bowling pin bottle. There's nothing like knocking down a frosty brew from a bowling pin bottle and then knocking the crap out of the real deal.

Why bowl to Vegas instead of fly?
Road trips are as American as Mom and Apple Pie. If you want to take a plane, why not just join the communist party, Pinko!

Bowling History:
The bowling lineage runs deep in my family. My late Uncle Tony was captain of American Bowling Congress Hall of Famer- Carmen Salvino's bowling team. While Mr. Salvino went on to fame and fortune on the tour, my uncle went the cooler route by hustling games, just like 'Fast' Eddie Felson. He told me about an easy mark who used to bowl him for large sums of money knowing he couldn't beat my Uncle, just for the one time he might do it. Now that's just cool.

As for my history, it started at the age of ten when my mother made me join a Saturday morning bowling league, forcing me to miss the I Am The Greatest: The Adventures Of Muhammad Ali cartoon and many other fine Saturday morning features. I didn't really have many friends on my team and quit half way through the next year. I ended up going to college for animation so I could make cartoons, but quickly found out I couldn't make a living at it, so I'm turning my attention back to bowling. I know it's a late start, but I think, if I practice enough, I can make the Senior's Tour.

Trivial Details:
Matthew DeRosa lives in Chicago's Logan Square with his two dying plants and a Chia Head. He'd get a cat, but just isn't ready for that kind of commitment. Matthew likes many fine foods other than cheese. And long walks on the beach.
